Common Questions

Here is a list of the most common questions I am asked along with with the answers.

Q: Will I get a full hour of tuition?
A:Yes, I will pick you up at the time we have arranged and you will have a full hour of one-to-one tuition.

Q: Can I book a two-hour lesson?
A: Yes, I also do 1 and a half hour lessons. Please refer to Our Prices

Q: Do lessons in the evening and at weekends cost the same as in the daytime?
A: Yes, all cost's are the same. Costs only vary if the duration of the lesson's differ.

Q: How many lessons will I need?
A: There is no set number. Driving Standards Agency research suggests that about 40 hours of professional training plus additional practice will give you the best chance of passing.

The number of lessons you need can depend on:

  • How quickly you learn
  • How often you are taught
  • The length of your lessons
  • The amount of practice you get

Q: How long does it take to book a practical test?
A: Before you can book your practical test you must have passed the theory test. From the booking time, it could take up to 6 weeks before you can take your practical test, it all depends on waiting times at your local test centre.

Q: How do I book my theory or practical test?
A: You can book your tests through www.gov.uk/browse/driving/learning-to-drive or by calling 0300 200 1122.

Q: I'm nervous about learning to drive. Would you advise me to try a driving simulator first?
A: Driving simulators can be useful, especially if you are a very nervous driver, but nothing can replace in-vehicle training with a professional instructor. Don't worry if you're feeling anxious about learning to drive. I do understand this and will soon put you at ease.

Q: Will I need to book the practical and theory tests myself?
A: The practical and theory tests are an arrangement between you and the Driving Standards Agency, but I will be happy to help you book your test appointments.

Q: What type of car will I drive?
A: You'll learn to drive in a Toyota Yaris, please see the About Me page for more information and pictures.

Q: Do you sell gift vouchers?
A: Yes, if you'd like to buy driving lessons as a gift, please Contact Me and we can arrange for vouchers to be sent out to you.
